Irish born artist Gerard Carry attended “The Art Student’s League of New York” where in his final year he was awarded the Arnold Blanche Memorial Scholarship for merit.

Since finishing his studies Mr. Carry has received numerous portrait commissions. Most notably Leon Spinks, World Heavyweight Champion and Doctor Paul Marks, former director of Memorial Sloan Kettering Hospital.

Other commissioned works include two large canvases depicting pre civil-war Marietta/Atlanta Georgia which today hang in the lobby of the Hilton Hotel in Marietta.

Mr. Carry has also completed large scale murals for private businesses. An example of which may be viewed at Murphy’s Law Restaurant in New York, NY.

In 2009 he was commissioned by the Irish Repertory Theater of New York to design the artwork for that years production of two one act plays by Conal Creedon.

In 2013 a work by the artist was selected by The Carl Schurz Park Conservancy as the frontpiece for their invitations to the annual fund raising event held at the traditional residence of the Mayor of New York, Gracie Mansion.

Currently Mr. Carry is represented by the Gallery of Graphic Arts, New York city where he has shown successfully in annual solo exhibitions in addition to numerous group shows.
